As much as I would like to call this image mine, it is not. It was contributed by my friend Klaus Leuschner to support our fundraiser for Japan, which ends in 2 days! So if you consider purchasing prints or cards from me or the other participating artists, please do it in the next 2 days. All profits will go directly to the red cross in order to help the victims of the Japan earthquake, tsunami and unfortunately as it now looks like a major nuclear threat. You can order pretty much every image on this blog as a print or post card, starting at $1.79. And btw, for those outside the US the shipping cost for post cards and small prints is acutally quite reasonable. I know this because I ordered some post cards of Oli’s pictures and they look awesome!

So far I have raised around $100 plus fotomoto’s contribution which would be something around $50 if I calculated it right. Thanks so much to everyone who participated!

Went for an early morning walk in the fog yesterday.  I don’t find myself getting up to leave the house early very often. But when I do, I usually never regret it. Should do this way more often.

Went on a short trip to the north of germany this weekend. It was obviously still off season. No people. And even though it was cold and it rained and overall it was just as gray as could be, I liked it. It was hard to tell ocean and sky apart. Maybe I had too much sun in California. I don’t know. Or places just tend be more exciting to me when it’s off season.

Saw this swimming pool at the coking plant at Zollverein in Essen, an old coal mine, which is now considered world heritage and serves as event location and tourist attraction. Very cool place. I guess in the summer the pool will actually be filled with water for people to swim in it.

With the new design it’s just so much more fun to post stuff. Here are some photos I took at a concert of my friends blues band “Back on the road” last week. Make sure to check them out. They are really good.

I’m thinking about posting more series like this. My next gig will be in a nursing home by the way. Haha, something to look forward to! Well, maybe not…
